About N. S. S.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship youth development program of the Government of India aimed at nurturing social responsibility, leadership, and community engagement among students. Guided by its motto, “Not Me, But You,” NSS inspires students to rise above self-interest and contribute meaningfully to society and nation-building.
Established on 24 September 1969, during the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, NSS reflects Gandhian ideals of selfless service, community participation, and social harmony. Today, it operates across universities and colleges throughout the country, engaging millions of student volunteers in constructive social activities.

Special Camps

NSS volunteers participate in 7-day Special Camps, focusing on rural development, environmental conservation, women empowerment, literacy drives, and social reform initiatives. These camps provide hands-on experience and strengthen teamwork and leadership qualities.
