Hindi Department

Hindi is not only the official language of India, but it is also a carrier of the country’s cultural, literary, and intellectual traditions. The establishment of a Hindi Department in higher education institutions provides students with systematic and in-depth study opportunities in the fields of language, literature, criticism, translation, journalism, and creative writing. This department develops linguistic proficiency, expression skills, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among students. Through Hindi, it becomes possible to study Indian society, history, folk culture, and contemporary discourses—such as feminist discourse, Dalit discourse, and tribal discourse—thereby broadening and enriching students’ perspectives. The relevance of Hindi in administrative, academic, media, and other career-oriented fields is continuously increasing; therefore, the Hindi Department also prepares students for employment opportunities. Thus, the establishment of a Hindi Department is essential not only for the preservation and promotion of the language but also for strengthening the nation’s cultural identity and intellectual development.
