IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) – FunctionsAs per the guidelines of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is established in higher educational institutions to ensure continuous improvement in academic and administrative performance. The major functions of IQAC are as follows:1. Development and Application of Quality BenchmarksIQAC formulates quality parameters and benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities of the institution to ensure systematic growth and excellence.2. Facilitating a Learner-Centric EnvironmentIt promotes innovative teaching-learning processes, use of ICT, student-centric methodologies, and outcome-based education to enhance the overall academic experience.3. Documentation and Record MaintenanceIQAC systematically collects, analyzes, and maintains data related to academic performance, research, extension activities, and institutional achievements.4. Feedback MechanismIt develops structured feedback systems from students, teachers, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders, and ensures appropriate action based on the analysis.5. Promotion of Research and InnovationIQAC encourages faculty and students to undertake research activities, publish papers, organize seminars/workshops, and engage in collaborative academic initiatives.6. Organization of Quality-Related ActivitiesIt organizes seminars, conferences, workshops, faculty development programmes (FDPs), and training sessions to promote quality enhancement.7. Preparation of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR)IQAC prepares and submits the AQAR to NAAC, highlighting institutional progress and quality initiatives undertaken during the academic year.8. Ensuring Best PracticesIt identifies, promotes, and institutionalizes best practices in teaching, governance, administration, and community engagement.9. Institutional Planning and MonitoringIQAC plays an advisory role in strategic planning, performance evaluation, and monitoring of institutional policies for sustained quality improvement.10. Preparation for Accreditation and ReaccreditationIt coordinates all activities related to NAAC accreditation and reaccreditation processes, including data compilation, report preparation, and peer team visits.Through these functions, IQAC ensures a culture of continuous quality enhancement and institutional excellence. |
